Brothers and Sisters,

On Substack we talked about Thaddeus. The apostle with one recorded line, one question, and a martyr’s death. A man who cared more about the outsiders than his own glory.

Here’s the uncomfortable follow‑up: most of us aren’t obscure for the same reason he was.

Thaddeus’ obscurity was a byproduct of obedience. Ours is usually a byproduct of laziness. We hide behind “I’m not called to platform” as an excuse to stay silent. We pretend anonymity is humility when it’s really cowardice.

Jesus didn’t answer Thaddeus’ question with a theology lecture. He said: “If a man love me, he will keep my words” (John 14:23 KJV). That’s it. No secrets. No conspiracies. Obey what you already know and I’ll show up.

Let’s get practical. Here are four things you need to do this week if you want to stop being an invisible, plastic Christian and start carrying keys instead of excuses:

1️⃣ Kill Your Quiet Idols.
– Take out a sheet of paper. Write down the top three things you love more than obeying Christ. Money? Porn? Comfort? Politics? Be brutal.
– Now burn it, tear it up, whatever. Repent. Ask God to smash those idols. Don’t move on until you’ve prayed over each one.

2️⃣ Make Your Faith Cost You Something.
– When was the last time your faith hurt? David said he wouldn’t offer God anything that cost him nothing.
– Skip a meal and give the money to someone in need. Turn off Netflix and spend that hour in the Word. Confess a sin to a brother instead of carrying hell alone.

3️⃣ Get in the Word Until It Bleeds.
– You will never hear God while you’re binging conspiracy videos. You will hear Him when you wear out your Bible.
– This week read John 14 and Acts 1–2 every day. Out loud. Take notes. Pray the verses back to God. The Holy Ghost doesn’t fill lazy men.

4️⃣ Find a Tribe That Will Punch You in the Mouth (Spiritually).
– Lone‑wolf Christianity is plastic. You need brothers and sisters who will call you on your BS.

Stop using Thaddeus as an excuse to be forgettable. Being obscure for Christ is noble. Being obscure because you refuse to obey is sin.

Get up. Burn the idols. Read the Book. Bleed for something that matters. Then go ask Christ the same question Thaddeus did—but be ready to obey the answer.
